18-year-old James Shorty of Momence, Illinois, has been charged with raping a woman on Chicago's Far North Side... and it looks like he isn't the first person in his family to be accused of such a heinous crime.
On Wednesday, December 19, 2012, around 5:45 a.m., Shorty, a Kankakee County resident, sexually assaulted a 50-year-old woman near the CTA Morse Red Line station in Rogers Park, said police.
According to investigators, the former Elgin High School student grabbed the woman by the throat, dragged her to a nearby construction site, beat her, raped her, and stole her clothes and her purse.
During the assault, Shorty allegedly threatened to snap the woman's neck if she continued to scream.
Authorities said DNA evidence links the 18-year-old suspect to the crime.
Citing various news reports, Shorty, who has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and felony kidnapping, was out on parole when the incident occurred.
Sadly, it appears James Shorty isn't the only alleged rapist in his family.

During one of our infamous investigations, we located a Tramaine Shorty, who was arrested for aggravated criminal sexual assault back in February of 2011.
Tramaine is currently serving a 20-year sentence at the Western Illinois Correctional Center in Mount Sterling, Illinois.
As you can see, Tramaine and James bear a striking resemblance. An anonymous source, who asked not to be identified, swears the men are indeed related.
Chicago News Report reached out to the convicts' family members for their reaction. So far, none of them have responded to our inquiries.
