At approximately 10:47 p.m., a suspect snatched a victim’s cell phone or iPad near the Addison Red Line CTA station, 940 West Addison Street, and fled the scene on a skateboard, said police.
Several officers chased the offender for several blocks, on foot, according to police dispatch reports.
The crook was described as a black male with dreadlocks, about 5’6’, wearing black shorts and a black shirt.
At 11:02 p.m., a suspect matching the thief’s description was apprehended on the 1100 block of West Waveland Avenue.
The suspect was later positively identified by the victim, said police.
