
The incident occurred inside a second floor unit at 4602 North Beacon Street, near Beacon and Wilson, in the Sheridan Park enclave, said authorities.
Investigators said the offender, described as a blue-eyed white male in his 40s or 50s, stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife.
One officer described the crime scene as a “big mess.”
When asked if the victim's injuries were serious, the cop said the victim was “stabbed pretty good.”
The patient was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital in unknown condition.
Citing police communications, the incident appears to be domestic related.
At the time of this report, the assailant was still at large.
UPDATE: At 10:36 p.m., authorities said the victim was in critical condition.
UPDATE: Police identified the offender as Steven LeClair. LeClair is known to hang out in the area of Gill Park, and frequents the Hotel Chateau, said officials.
UPDATE: Around 11:06 p.m., a knife was recovered at 1364 West Wilson Avenue.
