A Chicago taxi driver struck a “small child” in the city’s North Side Uptown neighborhood, according to police communications.

The apparent accident happened around 6:39 p.m. at the intersection of North Clarendon and West Agatite Avenues, near Clarendon Park.

An unconfirmed report indicated a mob of forty people were threatening to harm the cabdriver.

At the time of the incident, a huge block party was going on in the area, said a responding officer.

The injured child was transported to Weiss Memorial Hospital.

Although the extent of the patient’s injuries were unknown, one officer said the victim was alert and able to speak with investigators.
