2 injured, 1 arrested in Uptown stabbing

A woman is in police custody following a stabbing inside an Uptown neighborhood apartment building, said authorities.

The incident, which was reported around 6:36 p.m., occurred inside a second floor unit at the Clarendon Court Apartments, 4500 North Clarendon Avenue, said police.

Investigators said a 45-year-old black woman named Arleen Young, cut her 52-year-old ex-boyfriend and his 57-year-old current girlfriend during an altercation.

The female victim sustained a minor injury to her right hand and the male victim’s right forearm was similarly injured during the attack, said police.

At 6:53 p.m., Young was apprehended at 4657 North Malden Street.

Authorities also recovered a knife.

At the time of this report, police coded the incident as a “0420”, an aggravated battery with a knife or other cutting instrument.
