
According to police dispatch reports, at approximately 12:54 a.m., a citizen on the 3400 block of North Greenview Avenue, between Greenview and Cornelia, reported a burglary in progress.
The caller, who was home alone with his dog, heard someone breaking in through the rear of his Lakeview residence, said authorities.
The suspect --- who was described as white male, about 6-feet-tall with dark, spiked hair --- was last seen running northbound through the alley behind the North Greenview address.
At 1:01 a.m., police apprehended a possible suspect at the intersection of Southport and Cornelia Avenues.
The suspect was brought back to the crime scene, where the victim positively identified him as the would-be burglar, said police.
