The incident occurred near the intersection of North Clark and West Roscoe Streets, around 12:33 a.m., said police.
Investigators said a white male wearing a red baseball cap, with a white T-shirt pulled over his face, stole the victim’s purse.
Citing police dispatch reports, the offender demanded the woman's purse and she complied with his demands.
The mugger, who is approximately 23-years-old and 5’9”, was last seen running westbound on Roscoe Street toward Racine Avenue.
The stolen handbag -- described as red, white, and black with silver sparkles -- contained the victim’s ID and debit card, said police.
