Around 9:57 a.m., a black female suspect and her black male accomplice tried to break into an apartment on the 1000 block of West Irving Park Road, between Sheridan and Kenmore, said police.
It’s unclear if the thieves actually got inside the dwelling, but two male roommates briefly detained the female suspect… while the male offender managed to escape.
A CTA bus driver told police he saw the male suspect running northbound on Sheridan Road.
Before police arrived at the Lake View residence, the female burglar also managed to flee the scene; prompting the male roommates to give chase.
Not realizing what was happening, several eyewitnesses dialed 911 to report two men chasing a black woman down street.
Luckily, authorities apprehended the woman about a block north of the crime scene, at Sheridan and Cuyler.
At the time of this report, it wasn’t immediately clear if the male suspect was in custody.
FYI! Police responding to the initial 911 call were told to use extreme caution.
Apparently, a black transsexual stabbed someone in this area, overnight.
