According to the folks at the Take Back Boystown Facebook page, armed security officers, dressed in yellow shirts and bullet proof vests, are patrolling the area.
The private security team was allegedly hired by the Northhalsted Business Alliance.
The Facebook user who initiated the conversation about the extra security said, since the officers' arrival, the streets have been so peaceful, he finally felt comfortable enough to stop at Roscoe's for a drink.
So far, it's unclear how long the guards will be stationed in Boystown.
Chicago News Report contacted the Northhalsted Business Alliance for more details.
If we get a response, we'll follow up on this story.
