Man wanted for sex offense on CTA, says cops

Early Friday morning, police were looking for an alleged sex offender who startled a woman on a North Side CTA train.

Around 6:15 a.m., a man repeatedly touched himself and groped a woman on a Brown Line train approaching the Damen “L” station at 4643 North Damen Avenue, according to preliminary reports.

The suspect was described as a white male with black hair, 50 to 70-years-old, about 5’6” and 180 pounds.

Investigators said the man was wearing sunglasses, a black jacket, black pants, and carrying a large clear bag - filled with laundry.

The suspect was last seen headed westbound from the Damen “L” station.

Police removed a black man, described as extremely combative, from the Belmont Red Line station at 945 West Belmont Avenue, around 6:34 a.m.

According to a 6:18 a.m. police dispatch report, the man was harassing passengers on an approaching train.
