
Citing police dispatch reports, the burglary occurred on the 3100 block of North Kenmore Avenue, near Kenmore and Belmont, around 3:46 a.m.
The victim woke up just in time to see the intruder running out the back door, said police.
The offender was described as a tall, black male wearing a striped polo shirt and blue jeans.
At 3:51 a.m., police stopped a possible suspect matching the offender’s description on the 3200 block of North Sheffield Avenue.
At 3:57 a.m., the victim identified the possible suspect as the man who broke into her home and the man was placed under arrest.
