Sunday, police responded to a disturbance at a pizzeria in Chicago’s West Ridge, West Rogers Park neighborhood.

An 8:22 p.m. police dispatch report indicated a man was “going crazy” inside Villa Palermo Pizza and Catering at 2154 West Devon Avenue, near Devon and Leavitt.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 20s wearing a blue shirt.

Subsequent information suggested the man was angry because the restaurant refused to give him free food.

By 8:25 p.m., Chicago police officers brought the situation under control.

It’s unclear if the suspect was arrested.
