
On Sunday, July 1, 2012, shots were fired on the 4500 block of North Clarendon Avenue, near Clarendon and Windsor, around 11:37 p.m., said police.
Although officials had yet to determine the exact location of the shooting, authorities found shell casings several feet south of 4550 North Clarendon Avenue.
The shooter was described as a black male with a light complexion, wearing a red hat and a red shirt.
After the shooting, the gunman fled the scene southbound in a green jeep occupied by at least two other black males, said police.
Investigators said the shooting victim, a 16-year-old black male, was shot once in the upper right arm.
Preliminary reports also suggest at least one vehicle was struck by gunfire.
A four-door, 1996 Nissan, parked on the 4500 block of North Marine Drive, had several bullet holes and what appeared to blood stains on it, said police.
On June 18, 2012, Chicago News Report told our readers to expect a shooting on the 4500 block of North Clarendon Avenue.
