On June 1, 2012, 28-year-old Kijuan Byrd was shot to death outside a Miami, Florida, strip bar; Byrd's grieving family says he was an innocent victim.
According to Trayvon Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump, who is also representing Bryd's family, 26-year-old Lukace Kendle claims he shot Byrd in self-defense and Kendle has invoked Florida's controversial "stand your ground law".
On June 8, seven says after the shooting, Kendle was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
So far, the media has not mentioned any details regarding the deadly shooting that also left another man, identified as Michael Smathers, in critical condition.
However, there is no shortage of coverage portraying Byrd as an unarmed, innocent victim.
A quick Google search reveals that Kijuan Byrd, who weighed about 200 pounds and stood at 5-feet, 11-inches, was arrested back in August 22, 2011.
Byrd was reportedly charged with kidnapping and aggravated battery.
The charges appear to stem from a domestic violence case.

Because Bryd was black and Kendle is white, people are prematurely injecting racism into the case and comparing the shooting to the Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman shooting.
But if Kendle is a trigger-happy racist, you'd never know it by looking at his Facebook page.
Although outward appearances can sometimes be deceiving, Chicago News Report saw several photos of Kendle posing and smiling with African Americans... so, at least at first glance, it doesn't appear the shooting was racially motivated.
