iPhone snatched near Lake View East hotel

Two male suspects are in police custody after a woman’s cell phone was snatched near a North Side hotel, said authorities.

Around 8:43 p.m., a woman was robbed of her iPhone in Chicago’s Lake View East neighborhood, according to police dispatch reports.

One report indicated the incident occurred in front of the Best Western at 3434 North Broadway, at Broadway and Hawthorne.

A subsequent police dispatch report suggested the cell phone was stolen near the intersection of Broadway and Aldine - several blocks south of the hotel.

At the time of this report, the exact location of the robbery wasn't immediately clear.

The offenders were described as two black males.

One thief was wearing a white tank top and carrying a blue shirt.

The other mugger was wearing a white t-shirt and carrying a gray shirt.

At approximately 8:46 p.m., police apprehended both suspects at 3540 North Broadway.

Authorities did not say if they recovered the victim's cell phone.
