2 robbed in separate Edgewater muggings

Within the space of less than 15 minutes, two people were robbed during separate incidents in the city’s Edgewater neighborhood.

The first robbery occurred around 6:45 p.m. at Cedar Playlot, 5311 North Winthrop Avenue, at Winthrop and Berwyn, according to authorities.

A black male offender, 12 to 14-years-old, attacked someone and stole an Xbox gaming system, said police.

The young thief was wearing black short pants, a red shirt, and black Nike gym shoes.

About 10 minutes later, a second victim was robbed farther north, near the intersection of North Kenmore and West Hollywood Avenues, around 6:59 p.m.

A black male offender, in the company of two other black males, stole a man’s iPhone, said police.

The mugger is approximately 5’9”, 160 pounds, and he was wearing a white tank top.

After the robbery, the offender, along with the other two males, fled the scene in a white Kia.

At the time of this report, both robberies remained unsolved.
