Chicago police are looking for several suspects who allegedly tried to break into a North Side, Lincoln Park neighborhood apartment.

Around 3 p.m., a woman at 525 West Deming Place said someone tried to open her apartment door, said police.

The complainant was sitting at her computer when she heard someone trying to force her door open, said authorities.

When the 911 caller opened her door, she saw two male blacks run to the elevator, while a third male black held the elevator’s door open, said police.

Investigators said two additional male blacks were also seen loitering in the hallway.

In all, police are looking for five possible offenders.

One suspect was wearing a black, shiny windbreaker; a second offender was wearing a red coat; and a third suspect was wearing a yellow coat.

A responding officer said the men appeared to be roaming the North Side building, randomly trying to open apartment doors.

At the time of this report, the suspects were still at large.
