A man police described as a “homeless panhandler”, pulled a knife when several people refused to give him money, said authorities.

The incident happened on the 5100 block of North Ashland Avenue, near Ashland and Foster, around 10:45 p.m., said police.

Investigators said a beggar asked several people for money and when they refused, he pulled a knife.

The suspect was described as a male white, 45 to 50-years-old.

The offender, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, was last seen headed southbound on Ashland.

Officers were told to use caution when approaching the suspect.

At the time of this report, the offender was still at large and the victims declined to file a police report, said authorities.
