
Friday, around 10:13 p.m., several 911 callers reported an attack on the 3600 block of North Broadway, near Broadway and Addison, said police.
According to police dispatch, a male offender threw a woman on the ground.
The attacker, who was wearing a dark green, down jacket, was described as a male black with short hair and a dark complexion.
The suspect is believed to be in his 20s, about 5’10”, with a medium build.
Eyewitnesses said the suspect fled the scene southbound on Broadway from Addison.
Police detained a possible suspect at the nearby Jewel-Osco at 3531 North Broadway, but the subject was released after the victim failed to identify him as the man who knocked her down.
At the time of this report, it was unclear if the assault was related to a robbery, attempted robbery, or a domestic dispute.
As of 10:49 p.m., the suspect was still at large.
