Now that the Chicago Police Department has temporarily forced the black gangs out of the immediate downtown area, the city's seemingly unstoppable, roving ban of predators, have crept into Chicago’s Near West Side neighborhood.
Tuesday, June 14, 2011, around 6:30 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was mugged by a gang of black teenagers near the Ogilvie Transportation Center, located at 500 West Madison Street, said police.
According to various news reports, the teenage victim was attacked and robbed on the 100 block of North Clinton Street.
A My Fox Chicago News report indicated the robbery occurred near an alley at 101 North Clinton.
Seven offenders, one of them armed with a gun, struck the 15-year-old boy over the head and demanded his money, said police.
Then the pack of thieves went through the victim's pockets, taking a cell phone, a bus pass, and cash, said authorities.
The crook carrying the gun is approximately 19-years-old, 6’1”, has dreadlocks, and a tattoo on his right hand.
Another offender was described as 15 to 18-years-old, approximately 5’11”, and 150 pounds. He was wearing a purple ENYCE shirt with rhinestones.
