Early Sunday morning, a male victim was beaten and robbed on the North Side of Chicago, said police.

It's unclear where the 1:16 a.m. assault and robbery occurred, but police found the victim on the 7000 block of North Sheridan Road in the Rogers Park community, said officials.

According to police dispatch, the victim was attacked by a black man who stole his I.D. and several credit cards.

The offender is approximately 30-years-old with a beard. He was last seen wearing a black doo-rag on his head, a long black t-shirt, black jeans, and black gym shoes.

After the mugging, the crook ran southbound on Sheridan to Greenleaf, then he ran northbound through a west alley behind Sheridan Road.

An ambulance was called to the scene to treat the complainant. The severity of the victim’s injuries were not disclosed.
