37-year-old Arturo Ibarra, who is said to be responsible for slashing three people's throats in an Edgewater apartment building and shooting at a Chicago police officer, was a hardworking family man, said the dead suspect's uncle.

When asked if he thought his nephew was engaged in illegal activities, Anastacio Toscano told CBS news, "I don't think so. He's been working very hard to support his family".

Ibarra, who lived on Chicago's Southwest Side, leaves behind three children.
