A 49-year-old woman was shot multiple times on Chicago’s south side. After the shooting, she was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, located at 4440 West 95th Street, in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

According to a Chicago police officer, the woman was shot several times, in various parts of her body, and is in serious condition.

Moments after the shooting, police received information that a male relative of the shooting victim, was planning to retaliate. Apparently, someone involved in the woman’s shooting, was also at Christ Hospital.

The suspect, who bears the same last name as the 49-year-old shooting victim, was said to have rounded up a posse and was armed with guns.

Police stationed at Christ Hospital, in unmarked cars, were on the lookout for a white minivan with a Mary Kay sticker on the back. I have the vehicle’s license plate number, but since the car wasn’t actually involved in a crime, I have chosen not to disclose that information.

The Oak Lawn, Illinois police department was also notified of the potential threat of retaliatory violence at Christ Hospital.
